 Advanced Eye Technology

At Hobson Eye Associates, we believe in providing the best eye and vision care to our patients. Our goal is to help provide you with lifetime good vision and eye health. To achieve our goal, we utilize the latest in ocular equipment. Our patients benefit from the use of the most advanced eye technology. At our eye care facility, our skilled and up-to-date optometrists utilize Optomap, Optical Coherence Topographer (OCT), visual field testing and topography.

Optomap Daytona

The Optomap retinal technology delivers a panoramic view of the retina with an over 80 percent image. The Optomap allows for a more comfortable retinal exam, as the pupils don’t have to be dilated. It’s ideal for both children and adults. It also identifies early detection of common diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Plus, the exam is quick and painless.

Optical Coherence Topographer

OCT takes cross-section images of the retina. All of the distinctive retina layers can be seen, which allows us to map and measure their thickness. These measurements assist with the diagnosis and treatment for glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration and retinal diseases. The eyes are scanned with no contact to the equipment, and scanning takes about five to 10 minutes.

Visual Field Testing

Our optometrists perform visual field testing to measure the scope of vision, including central and peripheral vision. This testing actually maps the visual fields of each eye. It also detects signs of glaucoma damage to the optic nerve, peripheral retinal disease, eyelid conditions and other disease affecting the visual pathways.

Corneal Topography

Corneal topography produces a very detailed description of the power and shape of the cornea. With this advanced eye technology, our optometrists can evaluate the condition of your corneal surface. We use corneal topography for a variety of reasons, including diagnosing, treating and monitoring eye conditions, fitting contact lenses and planning Lasik surgery.

Utilizing the latest in advanced eye technology puts us at the forefront of A+ eye and vision care for all of our valued patients.
